The Cutest Little Tennessee Getaway: Center Hill Cabins

This year for Phil’s birthday, I surprised him and we went on a quick trip to Center Hill Lake just 90 minutes east of Nashville. Phil always talks about wanting to own a little mountain or lake home some day, a place were he can just be present and be off the beaten path. And this place is 100% all of that and more.

If you live in Nashville, you have surely heard of and most likely shopped at White’s Mercantile. Well, these charming cabins are owned and curated by the woman behind that charming store, Holly Williams. On their website, Holly states, “I hope to welcome songwriters searching for a creative getaway, families and couples craving quiet and restorative time, artists needing new inspirations, children full of curiosity, and anyone wanting to sit inside a warm, curated and welcoming space. Come visit and find a little peace, quiet and clarity from the daily grind!” Her cabins absolutely hit the mark.

Phil and I snuck away just the two of us, so we didn’t rent the whole property, but every part of it is adorable and I dream of being back there again with friends and family. The property consists of the main cabin, a guest cabin and a tree house, and sleeps a total of 14 people. The cabins are not only dog friendly, but they even have a dog bed and bowls there for your pup.

Since our trip was in late February, we got to snuggle up by the fire and take a dip in the hot tub. I wanted to read on the back porch in the morning, but it was just a little too cold even with blankets galore! ALSO… I have never, and I mean ever, seen so many turkeys in my life! I honestly think I saw more turkeys than I have eaten. They were in groups of 6-16 and we saw at least 4 groups of them. Beatrice was very anti-turkey and really wanted to give them a piece of her mind.

Normally when we wake up at home, we turn the TV on, check our phones and we are immediately immersed in our daily routines. But when we woke up at the cabin, we could hear the rain falling on the tin roof and we just drank out coffee and played card games. It was refreshing to have a slower morning and just spend time with each other.

Even though we only stayed for one night, I’d highly recommend going for any length of time! It’s so close and feels so far away! And hey, if you’re looking for someone to go with you, I will gladly join you!
